Our Mission

March for Life 2015

The purpose of the women's ministry of Light of Christ is to glorify God through missions, service, education, and fellowship.

We are dedicated to making a difference in our secular world. We meet four times a year, plus a Women's Retreat during the summer as well as special events to engage the community in the love and worship of Jesus Christ. Check the the website or the bulletin board for information on upcoming dates and times. All women are welcome.

Our Guiding Scripture for 2016

Again Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world,

whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,

but will have the light of life"
John 8:12

New Women's Bible Study

All women are invited to participate in a Bible study group at Light of Christ twice a month on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30—10:45 AM. Our first topic will focus on women in the Bible and what we can learn from their examples. Dr. Sandi Ward and Deacon Mary Swann will facilitate the group. Bring a friend!

Our Prayer

Women in praiser

Almighty God, we pray that You will bless our work in prayer, mission and ministry in the world. Help us to pray fervently, labor diligently and give liberally to make known the power of your love given through your son Jesus. Let us not forget the lessons from the past nor fear the challenges of the future. Anoint us with your grace and shine in our hearts as we reflect your light throughout the world. AMEN

The women's leadership team oversees the thrift shop, the finances, our outreach contributions, and the planning of events and projects related to women's ministry, including the neighborhood care groups.

Meetings will reflect various stages of these issues to inform and bring understanding so that our women may be equipped to speak to women they meet who do not fully understand the implications of abortion and the current end of life issues. We are called to carry the Gospel into the world and spread the healing light of Christ to those living in darkness.
